I recently got my hands on a copy of Starry Night Pro. At first I thought it was rather corny, but after using it a while, I found it extremely useful. I was able to go back in time to when Mark Twain was born, and found out that he wasn't born under Halley's Comet. Halley's Comet was two years before his birth, but close enough. Also Halley's wasn't quite in the sky at his death. Someone said they went back to the year 1AD, to look for the star of Bethleham.
All in all this is in my opinion a great program for astronomers. It has virtualy every possible star, nebulae, ete that can be found in the sky. It even has satelites.
