I have the Sony Digital DCR-TRV315. I have night shot but not super night shot. I didn't try that. Didn't even know I had it for that matter. That may help in getting more stars in the picture. I was using the Teleview 22MM 68 degree field eyepiece. I didn't chenge to a different one, I'll try that next time. I have about 100 things I want to try and it seem like the combinations are endless. I only have the standard lens that came with the camera. I may look into what else is available. Get an Orion catalog or go to their web sight. The attachment is called the Orion Precision Slow-Motion Adapter $32.50. I've seen the same thing in advertized other places to. It's works good but I would buy a better one if I saw it somewhere. Haven't seen one yet, this one is worth the money but it could be improved. I'm sure there must be a way to directly connect the camera to the scope. I haven't seen a specific piece for that yet. I have a 12" LX200, I don't think I would have any weight problems. I've seen a 6" refractor mounted on top of one with no trouble. An EQ mount may need some counter balance if the camera is attached. I have a small TV/VCR I could connect at the same time. I will do this in the future so I could get a first generation VHS tape going at the same time. But the digital to VHS copy is real nice. Also, it would be cool if you have a number of people watching. It was lots of fun. I hope to refine the process and get even sharper images. I'll be posting about it for sure.
