I was just outside looking at the sky at about 7:45 EDT. Suddenly noticed a bright starlike object overhead and slightly to the north. (I'm in Baltimore, MD.) In a matter of seconds it became VERY bright, I would say at least 4 to 5 times the brightness of Venus. It held this brightness for about three seconds and then slowly faded to darkness in about five more seconds. The light was pure white and I could detect no movement, it seemd to be absolutely stationary.

Did anyone see this? Does anyone have any idea what it was?

Steve
