Perseid Shower 2010 And Ham Radio

I only saw one meteor from the Perseid shower this time.

Bummer.

However, several of my ham radio friends used the meteors to bounce 50 MHz signals off the trails with great success. They used a digital technique called WSJT. If you are an amateur radio operator of any level and are also interested in meteors, research the folks who are doing meteor scatter. The required equipment is reasonably modest.
