Don't know where you heard that. I have the 12"LX200 and it's F/10. The vail nebula was invisible without the filter. Most of the nebulas look better with the filter. There are others I wouldn't have seen without it as well. On my 80MM refractor they don't help much. But that's do to aperture. It's just not bright enough. The filter just kills it. But in the 12", I use the Ultra Block filter every time out. Now I'm thinking about getting the 2" OIII. It's worth every penny. Don't know why someone would say it dosen't work at F/10. Never heard that before.
