Hi Bob,

Nice report. Some of my most enjoyable moments with this hobby are talking with people and sharing the views with them when I get a chance.
We had some somewhat surreal skies yesterday afternoon, apparently from forest fires in Quebec. When I finally got a chance I brought my 8x40's out to look and the pinkish orange disk of the sun and could see a handful of sunspots clear as day. No filter needed! A couple passing by asked what I was doing and asked for a look. I always get a kick out of the ooh's and ahh's when other people see for the first time things I take for granted.

Anyway, sounds like you have some great opportunities to stir up interest. Best of luck!

Matt
