Blurry Dot Viewing W/ 80EQ-A

I received a cheap telescope for Xmas, the 80EQ-A.

I have tried viewing some objects with my son, but all I get is a blurry dot of whatever I'm looking at. Except the moon of course.

For example I spotted Mars in the night sky. Pointing my scope to it all I see is a blurry red dot.
I have adjusted focused and changed eyepieces. But nothing seems to help.

I am new to astronomy, so please any help would be great.
