Hello Derek.

The accuracy of your slews depends on a number of factors such as how accurately you initially trained the drives - assuming you did - when you first set up the scope, which type of object you are trying to slew to, and your use of the synch. function to improve your accuracy now and then - to name a few.

You mention the Moon being off-target. The Moon and planets are notorious for this. So not to worry unless the scope is way off. For complete and detailed info on your new scope, I suggest you join the Yahoo LX200 GPS owners' group. There you will find the real experts who know far more than Meade does about their own scopes:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LX200GPS/

Free, of course. There you will find expertise on all things LX200 GPS and many other things as well. Newbies with questions are always welcome. That is what we are there for. Give it a try!

Clear Skies,

Dave in Vermont
