Thanks so much for your help. Originally I was doing this research so that I could buy my son a decent telescope for Christmas. The more I look at the forum the more I am thinking-maybe I will ask my wife to get one for me!
The Orion scopes sound good and there is a 120$ difference between the XT6 and the EX8. The mid 300's is where I would like to be in price but am I going to be sorry I didn't get the 8 instead of the 6? How much difference between the two scopes? I compared them via the website and noticed only one category with a significant difference- what are your thouhts. Thanks Paul
