Hi Scott.

Glad you like the scope. And yes, the mount is at it's outside limit for hefting the AR-6. I have the AR-5 and just upgraded to a wooden tripod. You may wish to consider something as radical as that, but to get a good feel for all the options available that people have tried I suggest joining the following group:

These folks have a great deal of experience with your scope/mount and have many suggestions for improving stability - and lots more.
