HI,
I don’t have an LX but I do have an ETX with Autostar. I had a similar problem when I first got mine. I called Meade and they told me “first and foremost, training the drive is very important. Take your time and be as accurate as you can. I’m sure you know that but I thought I would throw that in.

What are the stars that you are using to align with? I have found that the farther apart the two stars are the more accurate my scope is. Try not to use a star directly overhead. Here in Washington state at 9:00pm I use Arcturus for my first and Aries, extreme east and west.
