14" LX200 GPS Mirror Lock Trouble (?)

Hy, I am an amateur astronomer from Rome, Italy...
My new 14" LX200 GPS is performing very well, sometimes better than expected, on deep-sky and planets but I think there is a problem with the Mirror Lock knob...
I turned it counter-clockwise to a "firm feel" but this doesn't prevent me to continue using the manual focus knob as expected...The result is that when the telescope slews 60/70 degrees, sometimes it lost the correct focus!! This is not a problem with visual observation but it 'll be a pain with the ccd camera!!
Meade provides the mirror lock knob to avoid this...and it doesn't work! What can I do ? Is it possible to register this knob without shipping back the entire telescope? Can someone confirm me the fact that, when it is in the "locked" position, it is not possible to use the manual focus knob?

Best regards,
Marco
