I just bought a Meade LX-200 12" telescope. There was a red screw that was to the right of the focus knob that I failed to notice until after about 10 minutes of turning the focus knob. Then to my dismay I read that you have to remove the red screw before turning the knob or else it may damage the focuser. And I notice that my telescope doesn`t focus when I turn the knob. I would like to know if I now have a $4000 piece of junk. Is there anything I can do to repair the problem? Also where can I go if I need to find the Lat and Long of Fort Lee, N.J.?
