Do visit the Yahoo! LX200GPS group, as the previous writer suggests. It is a very large, very active group.
Have you tried fresh batteries? Do you use an external jump-start type battery? (C cells just don't last and are not very useful.) What you describe is normal if your voltage is low. There are other possibilities, such as loose wires and glitches in various software versions (Meade keeps upgrading the software), so go to the Yahoo! group. You'll find it addictive.
