Thanks for the advice. Sounds like your friends should switch cases. :)

When you buy a case, are you leaning toward a hard or soft case?

Do you think that the foam packaging that comes from Meade, and is used inside the soft case, provides good enough protection over the long term?

And do you have any type of case for the tripod or do you carry it loose.
