LX-3 Hand Controller

I have an LX-3 (ca. 1984?) that does not have a hand controller. I need one. Or, barring that, a schematic for one. Or, barring that, someone that can tell me what the difference between RA+ and RA- is on the DIN plug.

I *think* that the difference is that RA- is meant for southern hemisphere, but can't find any documentation that says for sure - not even the LX-3 manual.
