Although the LX 90 is not really meant for long exposures, and although its lack of periodic error correction and weaker fork arms make it inferior to other scopes for that purpose, 20 years ago it would have been considered an astrophotographer's dream. If visual work is your interest, and if you're SURE it will be your primary interest for years to come, the LX90 is a bargain. But it's a lot more work than an LX200 for photography.
Once you're bitten by the photography bug, it is a consuming obsession.
