Thanx all for the response. Quick question, why is it that if the front corrector plate/EP is heated to prevent fogging that this does not affect the quality of seeing. I always leave the scope out to thermally stabilise but wanted to get a heater and was ponderring this point. It seems that if the front of the scope is heated that we are gonna generate eddies of turbulent air inside the OTA. I havent seen a heater being used so am not sure how much heat is applied to the corrector. Reading a snippet on MAPUG it seems that only a couple of degrees in temp diff is needed to cause some disturbance in the steady air inside the OTA.
