Wow! Prices do keep getting better. Eventually you'll want a second eyepiece (somewhere near 10 mm) for planets, but the 26mm is a good general-purpose choice. It will give you just enough magnification to see Saturn's rings (tiny, but there) and be low-enough power for birding. I bet eventually you'll also get a 32 or 40 mm eyepiece. But you're starting with a decent medium-power eyepiece at a price I would have thought to be impossible 3 or 4 years ago. I paid $217 just a year ago.
