The UHTC coatings improve image brightness and constrast for both visual observation and astrophotography.

The LX200GPS is a big gain in performance over the LX90, especially if you ever want to use the scope for astrophotography.

(1) The fork on the LX200GPS is much more stable than the LX90.

(2) The tracking is much more accurate. In part because of the sturdier fork and larger bearings. Also the ASII computer.

(3) GOTO is much more accurate with the LX200GPS. You'll do a lot less sprial searching for the object with the LX200GPS.

The tripod and the OTA are where the similarities between the LX90 and the LX200GPS end.
