1. With the GPS model you should simply select "Polar alignment" from the AutoStart menu.
For a more accurate alignment and tracking, you should perform "Drive Training" (on terrestrial objects) first.

2. The problem with tracking after polar alignment seems to be a bug in software.
After sending my scope to Meade twice, it seems that the only way to get around this problem for now is to Reset and start all over from Polar Aligment when it happens.
