I Wouldn't Clean The Inside Of An SCT!

If the primary mirror and secondary mirror in your SCT need cleaning, I would suggest you send it to a profesisonal.

First, you are unlikely to get the corrector plate back on in the correct orientation.

Second, you are unlikely to get the secondary aligned right.

Third, the coatings on the mirrors have no quartz coating. You will very likely rub some or all of the coating off.

You could send the scope to Dr. Clay Sherrod at the Arkansas Sky Observatory for a SuperCharge and ask him to clean and adjust the optics. Or, you can send it back to Meade for a cleaning.

Even if you see little spots on the primary mirror, you should not see them in your image. They are way to close to be within the depth of field for focus.
