Have not been able to use our $4,000plus investment. Meade tech support has been contacted numerous times this past week. The last conversation ended with "wait for the new Autostar update; it should be out in a week or 2."" We're so disappointed in this organization. The purchase was a serious error in judgment. Is there anyone out there who can help?

1. original setup seemed to be fine with the Autostar version 1.0g (it pointed to the moon successfully, weather did not permit viewing other objects).
2. downloaded version 1.2b update as per instructions
3. new setup has proved inconsistent and erratic; some alignments are successful, others are not; never can it find the moon or any other planets; always slews but is obviously in wrong direction
4. redid download on 4 separate occasions
5. finding north & true north has tube pointing to the ground
6. finding level often, but not always, has the declination in run away; won't stop till power off

location is Long Island (Brookhaven, NY)
CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP!!!! Meade is a tragic disappointment; could never give this organization any recommendation; my husband wants to put 2 large decals of lemons on either side of the tube and drive around the country; then start a letter writing campaign to schools, clubs, & organizations across the country---we bought the royal scope, but got the royal shaft instead . . . . . . . . . . . .
HELP! PLEASE HELP!
Any suggestions greatly appreciated . . . . . . . .
