If you decide on the 12" LX200, get the matching dew shield. Get the cable to connect it to battery in the field (it comes with the plug for a wall socket). It comes with one eyepiece, you will want more. The more expensive eyepieces are well worth the money. If you have friends or can get to an Astronomy club StarParty and try some out before buying, that would be great.
