Hi:

I have a Meade SCT 8" 2080 LX5. I have had it since it first came out from meade back in the 1980's. This scope is an excellent performer. I have had no problems with it at all. It came with the r/a and dec motors and a hand held device. However this was just before the model of the LX6 series which had the computer aided CAT product.
I hear that there is a product available that allows for computer aided control of the LX5 using a form of digital setting circles.

Has anyone used this product. It doesnt slew the scope like a goto, however it can work with a notebook in helping you direct the scope to various targets. Being that I have had the scope for some time now, I have come to know my star hopping pretty well. I was just curious though if this product was any good. Please let me know if you have tried it.

Thanks again.

Julian
