Ok, First Night Out!

hi Bob & others,

well, first of all, I was out there too long and got a little sick! dang, just when I was getting a hang of it too! ;)

anyway, a few questions (by the way, I didnt really see anything worth mentioning),

1. When the charts show north, are you supposed to look towards north and ABOVE yourself or towards the horizon?

2. Do all items look like stars at first? Or are galaxies very distinct?

3. Stuff around the moon, like NJC164..something, are these not visible to us because of the light of the moon?

4. Do I really need to go out to the boonies where there's no light to observe stuff? or can you see some stuff from your apt where there's SOME light around?
