G'day all,

Ihave have a 10" Starfinder Dob with one of those ?*&%##! plastic rack and pinion focusers. It really is a piece of Language Removed. Maybe there are better ones out there or perhaps Meade only send the Language Removed ones to Australia! Who knows?

Anyway - I need the opinions of others who have replaced this focuser with a crayford type. I have my heart set on a crayford and the precision that goes with it. Can anyone advise me on the best type and model? I have the 1.25" at the moment - is it worth moving up to a 2" and expanding the focuser hole? There is only slight vignetting at the focuser hole at the moment. Lastly, I may be doing some prime focus and eyepiece projection photography later so please take this into account.

Your opinions are greatly appreciated!!

Regards,

Craig
