Hey Gary;
The ETX125 is a nice scope. I know 3 people with them and they all happy. But from a 3 1/2 inch to a 5 inch is not that big a jump. It will be better, yes. But if you looking at Galaxies and other deep sky objects you really have to for the big aperture. Most people agree that around 12" you really start to get nice views of thousands of galaxies. Globular cluster resolve right to the center and planetary nebulars are fantastic. You can get a 12" Dob or bigger for the same price as the EXT125. The 12" LX200 will of course be a lot more. Take a look at the Obessions. I've seen one (20") the optice were and craftmenship are oustanding. I know people who have seen others and they are all made very well. Of course there are many good Dobs out there, but when I go for one, it will be an Obession.
