Hi Ed;
I bought the 12" LX200 last year when the price dropped. One week before that I was still undecided between the the 10" LX200 and the 11" Celestron CM1100. The price drop put the 12" in my price range and it was a no brainer. Now the full set of eyepieces. I know about 3 people who are getting the Meade instead of something else now. Noone I know has the GPS yet. One guy said he saw it in action and it looked good. I understand there's a waiting list to get one. That might be a factor. I saw the CM1100 which is the same OTA as the GPS. The guy had major collimation problems. He had to send it back. I also read a review of the CM1100, that one came badly out of collimation also. My friend got his back and it's fine now. I've seen many LX200's and the goto is sensational on all of them. The GPS says you just put it down, turn it on, no leveling, no star alignment and it points using a satellite. I'll believe it when I see it. Personally, I think Meade is trying to corner the market. Clear Sky.
That's it;
BOB SAL
