hello,
my 6 year old and i have been researching scopes for about six months now. yesterday we found a factory-sealed meade 4600 EQ 4.5" f/8 at a garage sale for $75.00 and we grabbed it!! you folks are one of the forums we have lurking, and appear to be the most helpful.

we live in the mountains and have great "light-less" nights, unfortunately we are in the midst of a rain storm now, so we are looking forward to some cool skywatching when these clouds clear...

here are our questions:
1. anything special cautions that we need to be aware of for this scope ?

2. any good beginner books or software packages to help us figure out what we are doing.

3. we had been on www.meade.com before, but it appears offline now. any info ??
