Black Holes As In-Sink-Erators

Is a black hole a "manhole" or "garbage disposal", so to speak?

I see matter/antimatter or whatever being sucked/draining into black holes. Is whatever sucked/crushed being turned into "compost" for the next set/generation of matter/antimater?

Please clue me in.
