Otherwise we would not have chemistry, crystals, semiconductors, ferromagnetism, suprerconductors, Fermi energy, Pauli principle, and many other quantum phenomena arising strictly from the identity of all electrons.

Same with photons, neutrons, protons, mesons, etc.
