Since I'm inspired today, I'll tackle this one:

>> H0: God does exist
>> H1: God does not exist

You forgot to add a third option (never forget the third option!):

>> H2: we have no way to know so let's forget about it until we have more information

OK, here we go. Before you can come up with a good answer you must first define exactly what you want to know. Most discussions pro/against God are completely nonsensical as it's seldom the case that both parties agree on what the word God means. As I've said before, once you define the problem correctly the answer pops up by itself. So here are a few definitions for what the word God might mean and the corresponding answers:

"that which created and gives order to the universe" - H0

"a bearded father figure who lives in heaven" - H2
"an all-loving, all-powerful spirit who cares for the worldly needs of all human beings" - H1, unless you never heard of Auschwitz, Africa, Harlem...

"the three-for-the-price-of-one deal offered by most Christian churches" - H1, unless you don't believe in logic

"a very influential sort of President of the Universe who can get you privileges if you befriend him" - H1, unless you believe in politics

"Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart" - H0, definitely!

Well, you get the idea. Ask the right question, get the right answer. Ask ill-defined questions, get meaningless answers.

Don't you just love Friday afternoons?
