Mike, the sun, in of itself, cannot create the kind of order and complexity in question, out of disorder ie, the evolution of non-life into life.

Evolutionists tend to over-simplify the problem of converting chemistry into biology, as simply a matter of putting sufficient energy into a closed system.

But before a plant can harness the suns energy, it must have a "program" that allows it to use energy [UV radiation] to convert CO2 and water into glucose. Of course this begs the classic chicken and egg scenario---where did the first program come from--or which came first, the plant or the program.

This is a notoriously insoluable dillemma for the naturalists. The tendency is, to gloss over it by saying that given enough time, the impossible becomes possible or using the illustration of crystal formation as an example of order rising out of disorder, neither of which are scientifically valid.

Time is the best friend of entropy and disorder, indeed there is a direct correlation between time and entropy--the greater the time, the greater the entropy increase. I will grant that crystall formation is a form of order, but the order is based on simple algorythms, like "do X over and over again", which is light-years away from even a rudimentary biochemical pathway.
