my first time on this board so i'll just jump in. why do we have religion? same reason we have science. because of man's curiosity. age old questions of "what is the meaning of life" and "why are we here". the answers have evaded us. the questions are profoundly important and having no answer is very flustrating. how do we cope with the flustration pychologically? we invent answers that provide comfort to us. these invented answers are religion. why do people continue to believe in the age of science? many reasons but formost is brainwashing. the young mind can be shaped and once certain beliefs are ingrained in the minds of children they remain their a lifetime. i was always a good student but i flunked religion 101. gunner.
