RD: Greg, does that mean that Texas is suffering the consequences of not following God's will when it gets hit with disasterous weather? Greg: No Richard, weather abides by God's Will, but simply out of the necessity to bring atmospheric and oceanographic circumstances into balance, not as a means for imposing His judgement on Mankind. Richard: Can we use natural and possible even man-made disasters such as Columbine to judge the compliance of regions of the country or individual cities as to whether they follow God's will? Greg: When the actions of Mankind are detrimental to Life or Creation, the effects on Nature are such that the beneficial provisions that Nature is designed to provide are diminished, just as when those actions are beneficial to Life or Creation, then Nature is inclined to provide with bountiful plenty. So to this extent we can use the state of the environment to judge weather people are in harmony or disharmony with God's Will. This perception is only realized when Mankind's actions affect those portions of Creation that abide by God's Will. When the actions influence the domain of the Free-Will of Self-Awareness, such a at Colombine, a different situation arises, and the beneficial vs. the detrimental results are dependant on the reactions WithiN the domain of Free-Will. Good can come from Evil in this domain, just as Evil can result from Good Intentions. Richard: Personally, since I live in Boston which has seemed to have avoided all disasters for some time now, I am partial to such thinking. Greg: Isn't Boston the location of a very expensive new freeway through downtown that is being paid for with federal dollars, federal dollars that are in fact being used to suppliment downtown businesses that are supposedly adversely affected by the highways poor design? This is WithiN the domain of Free-Will, but it seems to me to put a dark blemish on any perception of Boston as being without sin. :o) |
