I'm sure that if it was proven beyond any doubt that Jesus did not physically rise from the grave, that people would rationalize that, too. "Oh, just his spirit rose." Or something to that extent. Religious belief is contingent upon scientific knowledge, and religion's wiggle room is getting smaller and smaller with each passing scientific discovery.
