In the book of Matthew(forgive me for not having the exact verse) Jesus said "Many are invited into the kingdom of heaven, but few are accepted."

Remember that just because people claim to be christians, it doesn't mean they are. I know people that say they are but don't live their life according to Jesus' teachings. Many churches are like that too. It's hard to call myself Christian when it has been given a bad name(Just as I have friends that are Jehova's Witnesses).

I think Jesus knew what you're talking about and the above scripture shows it.
