I don't remember any passages in the Bible about the search for knowledge, but I'll give ya the benefit of the doubt. What I'm trying to say is, is that when you want to find something in the Bible, you do. If you want to stamp out heretics, you will find a passage that can be interpreted to let you stamp out heretics. If you want to learn and love, you can find passages that allow you to learn and love. It's all in the interpretation.
