Hi Harv

Even though I didn't describe my opinion in your terms, that seems to be exactly what I think. I think many people understand where Dick is coming from and why he's getting where he got, but the problem is that he doesn't accept that fact because he never met a single soul who agrees with everything he says, including his outrageous statements and his childhood stories.

I wonder if I gave the impression that I have no respect for Dick, that would be ludicrous considering what I have written before about him. I think he's quite smart and I admire the fact that he has formally expressed what I always knew on a 'gut' level.

The only flaw I see with him is that he starts out by claiming that physicists are confused, which they are, and then sets out to confuse himself in more or less the same way. He thinks he has done something original when in fact what he has done is called 'physics' and has been known for quite sometime now. He just makes it appear different, and that's where his originality is.

In a sense, he's like a magician who pulls a rabbit out of a hat to the audience's astonishment, only he himself is astonished because he didn't see the rabbit getting in! Yet get in the rabbit did, and not without his help, but because he gives the rabbit a different name he thinks he put something else in the hat. If he were critical enough of his work he could see why. Alexander saw it, Richard saw it, I saw it, anyone can see it if they look closely. Anyone but Dick himself.

Warm regards
