I disagree with Yanniru on this one.

Nature is just nature. In a sense the naturalists are right when they say nature doesn't care.

Earth quakes etc, only seem evil from the human perspective [though they are controlled by God]and differ qualitatively from the personal evil of the human condition.

As for a benevolent God, Eden wasn't around long before the evil in the heart of man initiated its first effect.
