Now you say that no one can hopefully follow the Law. Does that mean God made a serious error of judgement by imposing it in the first place? [Yanniru]

No, God doesn’t make mistakes. We were separated from God in Gen 3. The degree of separation is defined by the Law, in that without the Law there is no sin. The Law is an objective standard by which we can "measure" the degree of separation, if you will. As you imply yourself it is a hopeless distance.

And if God expected everyone to obey the Laws, then why were punishments prescribed for those who persistantly broke it? [Yanniru]

He doesn’t expect us to be able to gain salvation through obedience to the Law. Salvation comes through faith, as Father Abraham did, when his faith was counted to him as righteousness. When we sin we are worthy of death, because death came as a result of sin.

Also the idea of christ dying on the cross can be disputed. Other gospels (non-canonical)state that christ was stoned to death, or did not die at all. [Yanniru]

Show me something that can’t be disputed.

What was the meaning of the sign of Jonah? Jonah himself was not dead when he was inside the belly of a whale.[Yanniru]

Yanniru, I am not familiar with the sign of Jonah. Yes, I believe Jonah went into the whales belly [for 3 days by the way, Christ was in Sheol for 3 days]. If this universe has a Creator, all bets are off, concerning what is "believe-able".

What is believe-able anyway?

Brian
