Time as we perceive it, is always slowed when objects move faster, Einstein's Special Relativity and General Relativity both hint at that. Einstein knew this and that is what the equation is. The Satellites clock will move slower, he just misjudged or is miss calculating his time. As you approach the speed of light your time relative to some one moving slower will be slower than the people actually moving slower. That is why scientists feel if you were to reach the speed of light you would go forward in time, actually you just slow your time but you still think everything is normal, but ET ( earth time ) is still moving at its own pace.
