Alex, I agree with you inasmuch our education system is failing. We differ radically on the reasons though.

If you would extend your research a little farther, you will find that the downturn occurred shortly after 1962 or 63. The year they banished prayer from the curriculum.

What our ed system has become is, a very large social indoctrination experiment. Subjects including: teaching pre-adolescent and adolescent kids how to practice "safe" forms of homosexuality, social deconstructionism [dissolution of the family--its OK if Johnny has two fathers etc], situational ethics [there is no right or wrong], telling them there is no difference between them and the tress and the birds, the concept of anthropocentrism which is the notion that if you think man is superior you are a specie-ist, history revision in terms of telling the kids the founders were dieists--ever wonder why they don't recite the Declaration of Independence anymore. Evolution-the-fantasy [molecules to man part] intentionally confused with the empirical part--variation within the gene-pool the farmers and dog-breeders have used for centuries, yet have never been able to turn a cow into a pig. Etc, etc...

No wander they can't think.

Brian
