Sorry, Can't Explain

Richard, that is so obvious to me that I can't explain it.

Think about this:

An alien spaceship gone wild is bound to collide with Earth at a speed higher than c. What will happen? A very funny thing. The spaceship will get here before its image does. We will experience a collision but we'll only know why after the image of the ship "catches up".

Is the above logical? It is. Is it true? It all depends on how you define "collision", "before", "ship" and "image of the ship". That, I'll leave up to you. My brain is fried up already.
