And fundamentals of brain work and design are well investigated - no supernatural phenomena were found in exciting neurons (changing membrane potential due to misblance of Na+/K+), propagating (of similar ion wave) via axons, or chemical coupling between axons and neurons.

Do not worry - when we will have a computer with 10^9 simple processors, it will have same power as brain and will be way faster (because speed of light is much more than speed of chemreactions). It is even known when that happens - at about 2020 (at current rate of h/ware progress) home PC will compete with (human) brain in computational and other powers. Current home PCs already have power of incect brain. Yeat they already can maintain oral coversation on the level of 10-11 year child human brain (I have one such AI chat program on my PC right now, downloadable from www for free).
