If mind is reducible to matter and nothing else, then our rationality becomes rationalization. We are simply automatons, dancing to our DNA. [I think that Dawkin's gets credit for the latter term]


The universe and all that is in it, is rational beyond mere human comprehension. To propose that it would only produce minds that can percieve this rationality, yet not be capable of rising above rationalization, would seem counter-intuitive, if not unreasonable.


And, dare I say, irrational.
