I Don't Think They Will Take This Challenge Sitting Down

Careers and the placement of their names in history are at stake. If inflation is right (even in principle), then Linde and Guth will no doubt be mentioned in science history books down through the ages. However, if inflation is wrong, then like all theorists that had good ideas (but were wrong), the cosmological community will certainly ask 'what have you done for me lately?'. A great deal is on the line, I don't think this controversy will end quickly.
