Aurino,

I know you put a question mark by Stephen's name, but I wonder if this is something that he said, at least recently. His no-boundary proposal (which I guess he still backs) is that time becomes imaginary near the singularity. His paper with Turok introduced a 4-D Euclidean instanton as further background as to what kind of universe he believed existed prior to the big bang and inflation.
