Science is a knowledge of facts, phenomena, laws, and relationships between them verified by observations and experiments.

Therefore the importance of science - it explains relationships (say, origin of relativity or origin of conservation laws, or why gravitation obeys inverse square and not cube) and thus can PREDICT what happens under different circumstances (say if a car makes too sharp turn on high speed or if a gene responsible for insulin is blocked by "off" codon in front of it, etc.).

But how about philosophy? What IS a philosophy?

And why it is science and math which makes new discoveries about the way nature works, but no discoveries were ever made by a philosophy?

Use of science is evident everywhere - there is no object in your house which can be built without science.

But what is the use of "the love of wisdom" as philosophy is defined?
